Meet the Team
Dr. Sayed Mahdi Ayat is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and serves as the Medical Director of the Hemodialysis Unit at Richmond University Medical Center. He is also a faculty member of the New York Medical College (NYMC) Metropolitan Nephrology Program, where he is actively involved in medical education and the training of nephrology fellows.
After completing his Internal Medicine residency in New Jersey and his Nephrology fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, Dr. Ayat joined Richmond University Medical Center in 2023 as a full-time nephrologist and faculty member. His clinical and academic work encompasses inpatient and outpatient nephrology, hemodialysis, medical education, and quality improvement. He actively teaches medical students, Internal Medicine residents, and Nephrology fellows and remains committed to advancing patient care and nephrology education.
